A Morning to Remember at Fletcher Park
Honoring Heroes in the Heart of Pembroke Pines

Start Memorial Day with Purpose
Before the cookouts and beach days kick off, Pembroke Pines invites the community to pause, reflect, and honor those who gave everything.
The city's annual Memorial Day Ceremony is more than tradition — it's a moving tribute held in one of the city's most meaningful parks.

Where Memory Meets Community
Each Memorial Day, the city hosts a ceremony at Donnith H. Fletcher Park — named for the first Pembroke Pines resident killed in the Vietnam War.
It’s a heartfelt community gathering featuring a color guard, guest speakers, and a wreath-laying at the park’s Veterans Memorial.
The ceremony honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice while bringing neighbors together in remembrance.
Fletcher Park, located at 7900 Johnson Street, is more than just a venue for this annual tribute.
It’s a true neighborhood spot — with a shaded, fenced-in playground, sports fields, and quiet green space that invites both play and reflection.
It’s a park rooted in history and filled with life year-round.
