The city is marking America's 250th anniversary with something you don't see every day. A large scale community tapestry being built by hundreds of Pembroke Pines residents, one stitch at a time. Artist Magda Love is leading it. The finished piece gets permanently installed at City Hall. No experience needed. Show up, contribute your piece, and be part of something that will hang in this city long after the weekend is over. All day, all ages, no cost.

Saturday, June 6 | Storywalk in The Pines 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM | Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery | Free

Kick off summer with the library inside The Frank. They're reading See Marcus Grow by Marcus Bridgewater, with games, art activities, and Broward County librarians bringing the story to life. Free admission to The Frank's summer exhibition included. Every family gets a free copy of the book. All ages welcome. A solid Saturday morning if you've got kids who need something to do before the open houses start.

Saturday, June 6 | Studio Saturday: Photographs in Blue 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM | Studio 18 Art Complex, 1101 Poinciana Drive | $10

Studio 18 artist RemiJin Camping is leading a hands on cyanotype workshop. This is a historic process that uses sunlight to create Prussian blue prints. You'll use everyday objects to make your own photograms on paper. Part of it runs outside. All materials provided. All ages welcome. Registration required and spots are limited.
